Home Selling Profits Dropped in 2023 for First Time in Over a Decade | ATTOM Research Report

The Year-End 2023 U.S. Home Sales Report by ATTOM highlights several key trends in the real estate market. Home sellers experienced a slight decrease in profits and profit margins for the first time since 2011, with gross profits on median-priced homes dropping to $121,000 and a 56.5% return on investment. The median home price saw its slowest annual increase since 2011, rising by 2.1% to $335,000 nationally. The market showed volatility throughout the year, influenced by factors such as employment rates, mortgage rates, and housing supply.
